Session One
Ideate/ Prototype/ Test
We went into groups to critique each others mock ups. So far leah provides the imagery and I create the layout for the overall look. As of the moment we are still missing imagery and pages. One of the suggestions that was made from one group to another that I found interesting was that clients/stakeholders don't have to be organisations that are actively try to solve the problem (e.g. Helpline= suicide). Rather the other group suggested in including companies that would be given an opportunity to benefit from providing support to the issue.
Session Two
Ideate/ Prototype
The majority of class was spent on studio time. Me and my partner would have lengthy discussions on visual style. During this period we were learning to compromise as often the image we had of what the outcome of our visual brief would look like was often different. Jason approached as and encouraged us towards "rhythmic" black/white spread variety, commenting that having the whole document in white may result in it looking "sparse". I feel that our cover idea has been finalised as well. My partner decided that we should change the layout to A4 and do a hardcover binding. At first I seemed a bit skeptical asking her if she was confident enough for the amount of work and time we have. She seemed pretty confident and this was enough for me to trust her.
EX-CHANGE
I came to the ex-change with the two versions of our cover for unfiltered feedback. I was disappointed however to find that no one in my group had bothered to come, or they did but decided to leave within the first 10 minutes. I was lucky enough to be included within another group whose industries were further from mine. As they discussed their projects I found similarities between me and the industrial student as his project also concerned food. I personally liked the feature of his project where he considered "community" and food bringing people together. When they shared their projects I felt a sense of relief as I realised that everyone is going through stressful times together and that each individual was working towards a final outcome.
